Book ClubNotorious RBG: The Life and Times of Ruth Bader Ginsburg
(by Irin Carmon and Shana Knizhnik
)

WED Oct 11 @ 7:30 pm
RSVP: email suemstapleton@gmail.com

Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg (RBG) never asked for fame—she was just trying to make the world a little better and a little freer. But along the way, the feminist pioneer’s searing dissents and steely strength have inspired millions. Notorious RBG: The Life and Times of Ruth Bader Ginsburg, created by the young lawyer who began the Internet sensation and an award-winning journalist, takes you behind the myth for an intimate, irreverent look at the justice’s life and work. As America struggles with the unfinished business of gender equality and civil rights, Ginsburg stays fierce. And if you don’t know, now you know.

Oktoberfest!

INVITATION COMING SOON!
SAT Oct 14
@ 7-10pm
Don’t miss our annual fall kickoff cocktail party! Invitation coming to your email soon!

Bunco (& Left-Right-Center)

THURS Oct 19 @ 7:30pm
Bring: $5 ante for Bunco; $3 for L-R-C (exact change appreciated!); and a beverage or snack to share.
RSVP: email Katie Borgstrom at ktborgs@gmail.com for location details.

About the Games: Bunco is an entertaining, simple dice game, with no experience required. It’s played in multiple rounds with players alternating turns rolling the dice to match the target number. Whoever wins the most rounds is the overall winner. And because players rotate tables, it is a great way to meet and chat with different people. Left-Right-Center is an even simpler game, faster moving than Bunco, and is played at the end of the evening. Did we mention there’s no experience required?

Cooking Class: Soups & Bread

Join LNC’s own Katie Walter for a Soups & Bread cooking class! Katie taught cooking in her London home, after completing an internship at America’s Test Kitchen. Now she brings her talent to us by demonstrating a variety of soups (and don’t forget the bread!) just in time for fall: Turkey and White Bean Chili, Potato-Leek Soup, Thai Coconut Chicken Soup, and Honey Oatmeal Bread. Once prepared, we’ll sit and enjoy the food together with a glass of wine!
